I do not love you except because I love you

I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.

I love you only because it’s you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly.

Maybe January light will consume
My heart with its cruel
Ray, stealing my key to true calm.

In this part of the story I am the one who
Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,
Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

I like this poem very much especially the first line because of the paradox of love and hate in relationships. It is just complicated. The poem conveys that when you love someone deeply yet are not returned the same favour, you will hate that person as well. However, the poem goes on to say that love prevails/overrides hate finally because of the passion of love itself.

Passers-by

On the phone
we leave some words,
some messages.
On the road
we leave some footsteps,
some traces
under the Sun
we cast our empty shadows.
We pass each other by,
brush off each other’s shoulders
and continue our journey road.
I get off and walk away to my workplace
You get on the next train to your next station.
I see you
You hear me
but we don’t know each other.
We say goodbye to some old friends
and say hello to some new people.
We all come and go
and let things pass
in our everyday life.
